La Asociación de usuaries y profesionales del cannabis junto a la universidad de San Luis llevaron a cabo la elaboración de productos a base de la planta destinados al Dispositivo Interdisciplinario de Atención Clínica de AUPAC.
Durante el mes de septiembre se llevó adelante un proyecto de elaboración de productos a base de cannabis propuesto por el Programa de Cannabis de la Universidad Nacional de San Luis (UNSL).
La iniciativa se realizó en las instalaciones del Instituto de Investigación de Tecnología y Química (INTEQUI) del Conicet y contó con la participación de parte del equipo de extracción de la Asociación de Usuaries y Profesionales para el Abordaje del Cannabis (AUPAC).
“Las actividades que realizamos con AUPAC se enmarcan dentro de un convenio de colaboración entre ambas instituciones”, explica el Dr. Francisco Cecati, coordinador del Programa Cannabis de la UNSL.
El objetivo del encuentro fue estandarizar y optimizar los procedimientos de extracción de bioactivos, desde las flores de cannabis y la elaboración de preparados terapéuticos, llevando a cabo controles de calidad hasta el producto final.
“Se hizo un control de calidad de la materia prima para conocer el perfil químico de las variedades y se realizó la extracción de bioactivos”, aseguró Cecati y agregó que se analizaron las resinas para conocer la cantidad de cannabinoides.
El proceso permitió elaborar 500 goteros con diferentes concentraciones de CBD y THC. “Fue una experiencia maravillosa e interesante”, señaló el coordinador e indicó que la articulación entre las instituciones permite mejorar un producto para les usuaries.
Por su parte, la biotecnologa e integrante de AUPAC, Gina Dotta, aseguró que desde la asociación y la UNSL tienen la convicción de continuar investigando la planta de cannabis.
“El INTEQUI nos abrió las puertas para hacer preparados de cannabis en condiciones de seguridad y sanidad para aumentar la calidad y la cantidad del producto”, explicó Dotta.
Según detalló la biotecnologa, desde AUPAC se realizan extracciones mediante una técnica que ya tienen puesta a punto en sus laboratorios, pero que sigue siendo a una escala “artesanal”.
“Se mejoró el rendimiento y el control de los pasos del proceso, muy importante a la hora de certificar el producto”, afirmó Dotta y aseguró que desde AUPAC están convencidos de que el aceite extraido de la resina de la planta potencia los efectos.
“Apuntamos a poder avanzar en conjunto con universidades, institutos y laboratorios privados que pongan a disposición sus equipos y estén dispuestos a trabajar con gente que ya tiene conocimiento en cannabis”, explicó la biotecnologa.
500 goteros de aceite de cannabis
La producción está destinada al Dispositivo Interdisciplinario de Atención Clínica de AUPAC que cuenta con cerca de 400 usuaries. Además, aclararon que los aceites no están aptos para su comercialización.
Proyección a futuro
La UNSL prevé continuar avanzando en este tipo de trabajo conjunto con diferentes asociaciones en lo que respecta a la vinculación para aportar desde las instituciones, herramientas e instalaciones.
“Apuntamos a nuevos ciclos de formación y capacitación, a seguir avanzando junto a AUPAC con los goteros para usuarias y usuarios de la asociación”, adelantó el Dr. Francisco Cecati e indicó que esperan replicar la idea con otras asociaciones locales y regionales.
