    Multitudinaria convocatoria durante los tres días de la ExpoCannabis Uruguay

    El evento contó con más de 150 stands, conferencias y productos de todo tipo. la mitad de los asistentes a la ExpoCannabis Uruguay fueron extranjeros.

    Los pasados viernes 2, sábado 3 y domingo 4 de diciembre se llevó a cabo la novena edición de la Expo Cannabis Uruguay en el Centro de Eventos Latu en Montevideo. Al evento asistieron cerca de 20 mil personas durante el fin de semana entre organizaciones sociales, empresas privadas y usuarios de la planta de todo el mundo.

    Esta nueva edición de la ExpoCannabis Uruguay, uno de los eventos cannabicos más importantes de la región, hubo más de 150 stands en todo el predio, charlas con expertos nacionales e internacionales en cannabis medicinal.

    Además, tuvo la presencia de distintas marcas y se desarrollaron talleres de diferentes temáticas referidas a la planta y que influyen en el sector cannábico de Uruguay.

    En la feria cannabica hubo espacio también para charlas de alimento y nutrición, como así también conversatorios de género y cárceles. Estuvieron presentes representantes de la Sociedad Brasilera de Cannabis.

    Durante las 3 jornadas en Montevideo, se debatieron los avances en la regulación uruguaya y la situación actual del cannabis en el país vecino. “Del gris de la regulación al blanco de la criminalización”, fue uno de los foros destacados del evento. 

    “Estamos de acuerdo de que tiene que haber una normativa para que cualquier persona dentro del territorio nacional mayor de 18 años pueda acceder al cannabis mediante los canales legales y reducir ese mercado gris que hoy existe”, afirmó Gonzalo Maciel, del Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Minería.

    El gobierno uruguayo confirmó el lanzamiento de una tercera variedad de cannabis con mayor porcentaje de tetrahidrocannabinol (THC), el componente psicoactivo de la planta. El anuncio fue durante la ExpoCannabis 2022.

    “Esta tercera variedad, va a tener un nivel de THC, menor o igual al 15%; por lo tanto, se estaría acercando mucho más a lo que muchos clientes o personas estaban demandando”, aseguró el director ejecutivo del Instituto de Regulación y Control del Cannabis (Ircca), Juan Ignacio Tastás.

    El funcionario indicó que el porcentaje de THC que va a tener esta variedad se asemeja a los niveles que pueden tener en los clubes cannábicos del país. “Eso era un debe muy importante”, señaló Tastás.

    Desde la organización de la Expo adelantaron que esta nueva variedad de cannabis estaría disponible el próximo martes 20 de diciembre en las 30 farmacias que están habilitadas para vender marihuana de forma legal.

    La Junta Directiva del IRCCA anunció un registro para semillas y esquejes para el sector privado. Además, confirmaron el acompañamiento oficial para todas aquellas empresas que cultivan para el Estado puedan crear genéticas propias para “aumentar y variar la oferta”.
