    General La Madrid será el primer municipio de Buenos Aires en cultivar cannabis medicinal. El sueño realizado del Dr. Marcelo Morante

    Desde 2014 como médico rural Morante se propuso encontrar una respuesta para el dolor de su pueblo. Hoy coordina la política pública nacional del Registro del Programa de Cannabis (REPROCANN)

    El pasado sábado 12 de noviembre se llevó a cabo la inauguración en el municipio de General La Madrid en donde estará el primer cultivo de cannabis medicinal de la provincia de Buenos Aires. El sitio se encuentra dentro del Parque Industrial de la localidad bonaerense.

    El sueño que inició en 2014 el doctor y coordinador del Programa Nacional de Cannabis Medicinal, Marcelo Morante junto al intendente de la ciudad, Martín Randazzo, finalmente se concretó este fin de semana con la inauguración oficial del cultivo en el municipio.

    “Hay caminos y sueños que solo se transitan con hermanos y desde el corazón y todo se vuelve posible”, indicó en sus redes sociales Morante. “Gracias a la familia de La Madrid por permitirme siempre estar volviendo”, agregó.

    En tanto, Randazzo explicó que en 2014 se dió inicio al proyecto para poder cultivar cannabis para uso medicinal en General La Madrid y lograr así dar respuesta a quienes lo necesitaban.

    «Empezamos a transitar la etapa final de poder cumplir el sueño colectivo de pacientes, cannabicultores, investigadores, políticos y de todos los que han luchado para que el cannabis se plantara legalmente para uso medicinal», señaló el jefe comunal a radio FM 97Une.

    El intendente de la localidad bonaerense reconoció que el proyecto forma parte de los 40 aprobados hasta el momento en el Programa Nacional de los usos medicinales del cannabis dependiente del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación y coordinado por Morante.

    “Están trabajando con plantas que son producto del primer blanqueamiento de semillas nacional que se hizo gracias a un convenio entre el Ministerio de Salud y el Instituto Nacional de Semillas”, detalló Randazzo.

    Según indicó,  el acuerdo logrado permitió que en la ciudad se puedan producir plantas con flores, “otras plantitas para autocultivo y hasta hacer aceite para personas registradas en el Reprocann».

    El funcionario adelantó que desde el municipio trabajarán junto al sistema de salud local y realizarán convenios con “con entidades que tengan la necesidad para que el producto llegue a un buen destino», agregó el funcionario municipal”.

    “Celebro que el Estado empiece a adecuarse a los tiempos y las necesidades de las personas con las nuevas normas legislativas sancionadas», concluyó el intendente del municipio.

    Morante y Randazzo, dos actores claves

    Martin Randazzo, nacido en 1971 en General La Madrid, logró en 2015 la intendencia por el Frente Cambiemos e impulsó la política pública de cultivar cannabis con fines medicinales.

    En 2014 Randazzo había sido invitado por Marcelo Morante, profesor de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, experto en dolor y máximo referente en la materia, a participar de una charla sobre el cannabis medicinal que se dictaba en esa casa de estudios.

    Desde entonces trabajaron para poder plantar cannabis en ese municipio dentro de un programa integral de salud, enfocado en el tratamiento del dolor hasta que en 2015 el Concejo Deliberante resolvió por unanimidad aprobar el cultivo local con fines medicinales.

    El proyecto de General La Madrid

    En 2018, un año después de la aprobación de la ley 27.350, el municipio de La Madrid, solicitó al gobierno nacional la aprobación del Proyecto de Investigación sobre el cultivo de Cannabis con fines de investigación médica y científica.

    La firma se hizo esperar hasta marzo de 2021, con dos reglamentaciones de la ley nacional y un pedido del presidente Alberto Fernández en la apertura de sesiones de promover un proyecto de industrialización para uso medicinal e industrial de la planta.
