    Convupidiol: El Hospital Garrahan recibe aceite de cannabis

    El Ministerio de Salud de la Nación entregó el primer lote de aceite de cannabis Convupidiol, elaborado por el laboratorio local Alef Medical Argentina. Enmarcada en la ley 27.350 y a través del Programa de Cannabis Medicinal, la formulación mayoritariamente de CBD, será destinada al tratamiento de 14 pacientes con patologías de con epilepsia farmacorresistente, con convulsiones asociadas con el síndrome de Lennox-Gastaut, el síndrome de Dravet y en epilepsia relacionada a Esclerosis Tuberosa.

    En el acto de entrega estuvieron presentes el Presidente del Consejo de Administración del Hospital Garrahan, Guillermo González Prieto, la Directora Médica, Patricia Arrigoni, la Secretaria de Acceso a la Salud, Sandra Tirado, el coordinador del Programa de Cannabis Medicinal, Marcelo Morate y el jefe del servicio de Neurología, Roberto Carballo.

    ¿Qué es el Convupidiol?

    Es el primer cannabis farmacéutico aprobado por ANMAT a través del Instituto Nacional de Medicamentos (INAME) lleva el nombre comercial Convupidiol y está elaborado por el Laboratorio Alef Medical Argentina.  Es obtenido a partir de partes aéreas del Cannabis Sativa de variedad definida y biogénesis conocida. Está enfocado en niños, contiene CBD (100 mg por ml) y aceite de semilla de sésamo. Con 99,6% de pureza y 0,017% de THC. 

    ¿Se vende en farmacias?

    Está autorizado por el Ministerio de Salud y ANMAT, la venta en farmacias es bajo receta archiva, esto significa que debe tenerse original y duplicado. No hace falta el uso de vales de estupefacientes porque no es sustancia de comercialización prohibida, ni está en el listado de psicotrópicos. Figura en el Manual Farmacéutico, en KAIROS y en el Vademécum Nacional de Medicamentos.

    ¿Cuánto sale?

    El precio por la solución oral de 35ml del laboratorio Alef Argentina cuesta $66.754. Pero por la ley 27.350 de uso medicinal de la planta de cannabis y sus derivados, el Estado debe garantizar el suministro para los pacientes sin cobertura privada y exige a las obras sociales y prepagas a entregarlo gratuitamente.

    ¿Para qué diagnósticos se utiliza?

    La evidencia científica del aceite de cannabis a base mayoritaria de CBD (99%) es amplia. Pero para el caso del Convupidiol, que actúa como anticonvulsionante antiepiléctico sobre el sistema nervioso central, se indica como tratamiento complementario de convulsiones asociadas con el síndrome de Lennox- Gastaut (SLG) o el síndrome de Dravet (SD) en conjunto con clobazam, para pacientes desde los 2 años.
