La Prefectura Naval irrumpió armada en la vivienda de Edith Bernstein en La Plata para secuestrar las plantas con las que aliviaba su enfermedad, que le provoca «dolores constantes y es incurable».
Un grupo de 10 oficiales armados de la Prefectura Naval ingresó por la fuerza y allanó la casa de una odontóloga de 59 años en La Plata para secuestrar las plantas de cannabis que cultivaba con fines medicinales para tratar su fibromialgia. Según denuncia la propietaria, los agentes la amenazaron y retuvieron por doce horas mientras registraban su vivienda, antes de llevársela detenida por narcotráfico. También le habrían sustraído su celular y miles de pesos y dólares en efectivo.
Eran las 8.30 y Edith Bernstein regresaba a su casa en la localidad de Gonnet cuando vio un camión de las fuerzas en la entrada del domicilio. Allí se encontraban diez uniformados armados, que ya habían roto la puerta para acceder a la vivienda, relató la odontóloga a Página/12. Los oficiales llevaban a cabo un allanamiento sin aviso “a raíz de una denuncia anónima en una causa penal por narcotráfico”, contó la protagonista.
Edith explicó que luego los agentes le apuntaron, la forzaron contra la pared y le arrebataron el celular. “Les dije que no soy ninguna narcotraficante, que me dedico al cannabis medicinal por mi propia patología; que no tengo flores, no tráfico. Solo tengo cepas medicinales”, declaró la paciente de fibromialgia, una enfermedad que provoca dolor crónico en todo el cuerpo y cuyos tratamientos solo alivianan la gravedad del cuadro, ya que no tiene cura.
Doce horas de allanamiento
El operativo de allanamiento por narcotráfico habría tenido como objetivo el secuestro de las plantas de cannabis medicinal que Edith guardaba en su vivienda. El procedimiento fue ejecutado por orden del juez Ariel Lijo, a cargo del Juzgado Federal N°4. Cabe destacar que la paciente se hallaba inscripta en el Registro del Programa de Cannabis (Reprocann) y participaba en proyectos de investigación sobre el cultivo en la Universidad de La Plata.
“Usted cállese la boca y siéntese ahí”, le habrían advertido los agentes armados. Acto seguido “dieron vuelta todo y se llevaron pedazos de indoor, de las plantitas que iba a regalarle a mamás de nenes con epilepsia”. La profesional agregó: “Si yo corregía, me amenazaban mostrándome las esposas. En un momento, uno de ellos me dijo que si no me callaba la boca iba a incluir en el acta cosas que no existían”.
Tras varias horas de allanamiento, los oficiales aún no permitían a Edith contactar con familiares o médicos. “Recién cuando me desmayé, porque tuve un ataque de pánico muy fuerte, dejaron entrar a mi hijo”, repudió la paciente, quien denuncia que los uniformados se quedaron no solo con el cannabis y los instrumentos medicinales sino también su celular, 19.000 pesos y 3.500 dólares. En ningún momento la habrían dejado comunicarse con el juez.
Detención a ocultas
Terminado el operativo, la odontóloga narró que los miembros de las fuerzas la subieron al camión sin informarle adónde se dirigían. “Me dijeron que me iban a hacer averiguación de antecedentes y, si estaba todo bien, volvía. Tras cuatro horas sin saber dónde estaba, mi hermano hizo una denuncia por persona desaparecida”, afirmó Edith, quien estaba siendo trasladada a una Prefectura Naval en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
“Después me subieron de vuelta al móvil sin decirme adónde me llevaban, solo que íbamos a hacer otro ‘tramitecito’ y volvíamos. Al final me terminaron llevando a Sanidad, donde me desnudaron toda y un médico y una médica me revisaron las partes íntimas”, confiesa la paciente de 59 años.
Tan solo luego, de vuelta en la guardia, los agentes dejaron entrar a su hijo. La mujer recuerda: “Me tuvieron hasta las 18.30, cuando aparecieron mis antecedentes y reconocieron que eran impecables, por lo que me iban a dar la salida”. Más allá de la jornada que atravesó Edith, el allanamiento por narcotráfico también la dejó sin los cultivos de cannabis medicinal que utilizaba para tratar su fibromialgia. “Yo tomo tres aceites distintos dependiendo de cómo estoy y me dejaron sin nada, sin plata, sin mis aceites, sin mis plantas”, señaló la mujer, que padece la enfermedad desde niña. Ahora se halla en medio de un procedimiento judicial y abrió una cuenta para pagar su defensa.

Según Edith, el cannabis medicinal le ayuda con su cuadro, que por definición suele provocar dolores constantes en todo el cuerpo, cansancio y fatiga generales, así como calambres en zonas como la espalda baja, cuello, muslos y tórax. “Mejoró muchísimo mi calidad de vida. Nunca había logrado lo que logré con el cannabis”, expresó al diario Página/12.
