    Chubut: Inauguraron un proyecto de cannabis medicinal en Puerto Madryn

    El predio ubicado en Puerto Madryn, Chubut, corresponde a la empresa Whale Leaf Farm S.A dedicada a la producción y distribución de derivados de la planta.

    El pasado martes 15 de noviembre se llevó adelante la inauguración de un predio de la empresa Whale Leaf Farm S.A en Puerto Madryn, Chubut. El acto contó con la presencia de funcionarios provinciales, municipales e integrantes del Conicet y el Consejo Consultivo de cannabis de la localidad.

    Las autoridades indicaron que el suceso es importante para Chubut, ya que la posiciona como “una de las principales provincias productoras  a nivel nacional de materia prima y derivados de cannabis medicinal”.

    Según señaló el presidente de Whale Leaf Farm, Martín Almirall, el principal objetivo de la compañía es producir semillas y aceites de cannabis medicinal de excelente calidad y lograr la trazabilidad correspondiente.

    “Se busca que la población tanto de la provincia de Chubut como la de todo el país, sepan que es lo que consumen en términos de calidad y seguridad”, explicó Almirall sobre el proceso productivo.

    El titular de la empresa madrynense informó que el Hospital Andrés Isola de la localidad chubutense está realizando ensayos clínicos con el mismo aceite de cannabis que producirá Whale Leaf Farm S.A.

    “Esperamos poder llegar a todos los hospitales públicos de la provincia con miras a satisfacer la gran demanda de aceites de cannabis medicinal  de calidad que hoy existe”, concluyó Almirall.

    ¿Qué es Whale Leaf Farm?

    Whale Leaf Farm es una empresa privada que viene trabajando desde el 2021 con el Conicet-Cenpat. “Creemos que el trabajo en conjunto y colaborativo entre el sector privado y el científico son claves para una producción industrial y obtención de aceites de cannabis seguros”, aseguró el presidente de la compañía, Martín Almirall.

    Proyección a futuro

    Según adelantaron desde Whale Leaf Farm, se prevé comenzar a comercializar semillas de cannabis, tanto de CBD como de THC, a principios de 2023. “A partir de Mayo del 2023 iniciaremos la comercialización de nuestros aceites”, confirmaron desde la firma.

    “En esta temporada de verano estimamos cosechar unos 800 kg, para luego ampliar la cosecha en el 2023-2024 a 10 mil kg”, adelantó Almirall.

    En el acto inaugural participaron el Ministro de Agricultura, Ganadería, Industria y Comercio de Chubut, Leandro Cavaco, el Intendente de la Ciudad de Puerto Madryn, Gustavo Sastre, la Presidenta del Concejo Deliberante de Puerto Madryn, Noelia Corvalán, los Concejales Dardo Petroli y Enzo Terrera .

    Además, estuvieron Carolina Leroux y Karina Fernandez, ambas integrantes de la Oficina de Vinculación Tecnológica Conicet Cenpat, el Director del Programa de Producción de Cannabis del CENPAT-CONICET, Dr. Gregorio Bigatti y Roberto Neme y Martin Yacachuri por el Consejo Consultivo de Cannabis Medicinal de Puerto Madryn.
