    El Ministerio de Salud inició la entrega de aceite de cannabis medicinal al Hospital Posadas

    Los frascos de 35 mililitros de solución oral serán distribuidos para cubrir las demandas de los próximos meses para 21 pacientes que tratan sus afecciones en el hospital.

    La semana pasada, la ministra de Salud de la Nación, Carla Vizzotti, realizó la primera entrega de formulaciones a base de cannabis a pacientes con epilepsia del Hospital Posadas.

    “Este es un paso más para favorecer el acceso a derechos y a una medicación de calidad para epilepsia refractaria para quien tiene cobertura pública exclusiva en Argentina”, expresó Vizzotti sobre la entrega.

    Además, la ministra señaló que la medicación ya se distribuye en 4 provincias y en el Hospital Garrahan. Asimismo, destacó la importancia de reglamentar nuevamente la ley 27.350 de uso medicinal del cannabis.

    “Hacer un cambio de paradigma en lo que significa no perseguir, generar más datos, investigar, generar la posibilidad del auto cultivo, el REPROCANN, y ampliar también el acceso”, detalló Vizzotti.

    Por su parte, el encargado del Programa Nacional para el Estudio y la Investigación del Uso Medicinal de la Planta de Cannabis y sus Derivados, el doctor Marcelo Morante, indicó que es un gran paso.

    “Se cierra un círculo virtuoso de una necesidad y un reclamo social y de una respuesta del Estado de calidad, con médicos capacitados y con productos que cumplen con los estándares que requiere la epilepsia farmacorresistente”, explicó Morante.

    Los frascos de 35 mililitros de solución oral que componen esta primera entrega se distribuirán para cubrir las demandas de los próximos meses para 21 pacientes que tratan sus afecciones en el hospital pudiendo acceder a la terapia con cannabinoides.

    Las autoridades hicieron entrega de la medicación a la familia de uno de los niños que recibirá el tratamiento. El director ejecutivo del hospital, Adrián Tarditti, aseguró que hoy el niño va a poder tener acceso a este tratamiento.

    “Tiago, de 6 años, tiene epilepsia refractaria y a través del jarabe de cannabis tiene la posibilidad de una alternativa terapéutica que lo puede beneficiar”, explicó Tarditti sobre la entrega.

    ¿Qué es el Convupidiol?

    Es el primer cannabis farmacéutico aprobado por ANMAT a través del Instituto Nacional de Medicamentos (INAME) lleva el nombre comercial Convupidiol y está elaborado por el Laboratorio Alef Medical Argentina. 

    Es obtenido a partir de partes aéreas del Cannabis Sativa de variedad definida y biogénesis conocida. Está enfocado en niños, contiene CBD(100 mg por ml) y aceite de semilla de sésamo. Con 99,6% de pureza y 0,017% de THC. 

    Afecciones que se tratan

    La iniciativa del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación garantiza por primera vez el acceso en el hospital al aceite de cannabis de grado farmacéutico, purificado y altamente concentrado, para el tratamiento de pacientes con epilepsia farmacorresistente.

    En este sentido, las convulsiones están asociadas con el síndrome de Lennox-Gastaut, el síndrome de Dravet y en epilepsia relacionada a la Esclerosis Tuberosa.
