    Comenzó la 1era edición del FICC Río de La Plata en Buenos Aires.

    El jueves 4 de febrero del 2021 dió comienzo la 1er edición del Festival Internacional de Cine Cannábico del Río de La Plata en Buenos Aires. 

    A las 19hs se abrieron las puertas en el Patio del Complejo Histórico Cultural Manzana de las Luces, lugar elegido para la ceremonia de apertura del FICCBAIRES. Con el aforo lleno, se realizó la presentación oficial del festival que contó con la presencia de autoridades, directoras, directores, auspiciantes y todo el staff del FICC. 

    Antes de dar comienzo a las proyecciones, el coordinador general, Alejo Araujo, agradeció al director del complejo Cultural Manzana de las Luces por el espacio y la predisposición. Además, comentó la importancia de poder hacer el festival y dar un aporte desde la cultura. “El cine es una herramienta movilizadora y esencial para dar la discusión que se está dando en el mundo con respecto a las nueva regulaciones que se tienen que dar para la planta, sus usos y sobre todo la criminalización de las y los usuarios”. 

    También repartió agradecimientos hacia los sponsors, a las embajadas de Francia y Canadá, a la fundación Frederick Herbert, al Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA), al espacio de museos y al Ministerio de Cultura.

    A las 20hs se emitió el primer corto (videoclip) “Mujeres Cannabicas” de la Red de Mujeres Antiprohibicionistas (REMA) en el cual realizan una crítica a la prohibición en general y al machismo en particular como articulador de ese mismo sistema de opresión. El material formó parte de la campaña de Feminismo y Antiprohibicionismo de España en 2018. 

    Ya entrada la noche, se presentó el segundo corto “Misia JALANÁ” del director Fernando Saicha. El film cuenta la experiencia del director, primera persona en el mundo en obtener una licencia de cultivo recreativo de cannabis, utilizando la técnica de cámara rápida o  TimeLapse. También muestra todo el proceso para obtener el predio para en primera instancia cultivar y posteriormente abastecer con esa producción a las farmacias. 

    Para el cierre se proyectó el primer documental argentino sobre la prohibición de las drogas. El largometraje, dirigido por Martín Rieznik y Juan Manuel Suppa Altman, cuenta la historia de Eric Sepúlveda, preso y posteriormente liberado en la provincia de Cordoba por cultivar marihuana. El film está basado en el libro de Juan Altman y proporciona datos históricos sobre los diferentes acuerdos políticos sobre las drogas en el mundo

    «Es hermoso que se realicen estos festivales en el país, el hecho de que estemos produciendo contenido cultural que rompa con el paradigma prohibicionista que lleva cien años rigiendo las leyes es una progresión enorme», apuntó el director del film Martín Rieznik.
