    El INTI desarrolla un patrón nacional de THCA para análisis de cannabis

    La iniciativa del organismo prevé ayudar a reemplazar los costos de importaciones de sustancias controladas internacionalmente, simplificando procesos burocráticos.

    Profesionales del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial (INTI), comenzaron a desarrollar un patrón, material de referencia certificado, del THCA, un componente no psicoactivo presente en tallos, hojas y flores de la planta de cannabis. 

    “Este lanzamiento no sólo posibilitará sustituir importaciones, reducir tiempos y disminuir costos, sino que también es fundamental para mejorar la precisión y calidad de las mediciones en el país, garantizando así un control de calidad efectivo”, expresaron desde el organismo.

    El objetivo del INTI es que todos los laboratorios puedan homogeneizar los patrones de los análisis de la planta de cannabis para que cuando pongan las muestras en cromatografías, que detallan cómo está compuesta la materia vegetal, sea THC, CBD u otras, las muestras sean iguales.

    En un contexto de crecimiento global de la industria del cannabis y los avances legislativos en Argentina, el INTI desempeña un papel clave en el control de calidad de los productos derivados del cannabis mediante el desarrollo de estándares para medir sus componentes activos.

    El organismo nacional se encuentra organizando el primer ensayo interlaboratorio de cannabinoides por medio del Servicio Argentino de Interlaboratorios (SAI) “para garantizar la competencia técnica de estos recintos y mejorar la calidad de las mediciones de cannabis a nivel nacional”.

    Antecedente

    Durante el 2022, el INTI entregó el primer lote piloto de tetrahidrocannabinol (THC) a laboratorios públicos de la Red de Cannabis de Uso Medicinal e Industrial del CONICET (RACME) y en el corriente año donó 48 unidades de cannabidiol (CBD) a estos laboratorios.
