    Inició el cultivo de cannabis en el INTA Alto Valle

    El INTA y la Asociación Ciencia Sativa iniciaron el cultivo de dos variedades de cannabis en la Estación Experimental del INTA en Guerrico, Río Negro. La producción se realiza en macrotúneles con prácticas culturales sostenibles y bajo un sistema de trazabilidad desarrollado íntegramente por este proyecto.

    Desde el 2019 el Centro Regional Patagonia Norte del INTA y la Asociación Civil Ciencia Sativa avanzan en la investigación y el desarrollo de toda la cadena productiva de cannabis con fines terapéuticos y medicinales en la región.

    A partir de dos variedades de cannabis seleccionadas en INTA Bariloche, se están cultivando 850 plantas bajo cubierta en el predio del INTA Alto Valle para evaluar su comportamiento, calidad y destinar el material para extracción de resina y la elaboración de los fitopreparados.

    Este proyecto integra un programa de fitomejoramiento, banco de germoplasma y propagación de variedades en el INTA Bariloche, Río Negro, el cultivo en la Estación Experimental Alto Valle del INTA y, dentro del mismo predio, la extracción de resina en el laboratorio Pasedati.

    Por último, la elaboración de los fitopreparados estará a cargo del laboratorio Productora Farmacéutica Rionegrina Sociedad del Estado – Agencia Nacional de Laboratorios Públicos (Profarse- ANLAP), ubicado en la ciudad de Viedma.

    “Este es uno de los pocos proyectos que admite el cultivo en tierras del INTA y logramos que por primera vez en el país la policía federal custodie estos cultivos”, señaló Mariana Amorosi, responsable legal del cultivo de cannabis por INTA Patagonia Norte.

    Según Amorosi, se prevé generar distintos modalidades de cultivo bajo cubierta en invernáculo, en macrotúnel y a cielo abierto para conocer cómo se comporta la planta bajo diferentes condiciones de producción. “Además –recalcó- ya comenzamos con la primera cosecha para iniciar las pruebas de calidad del cultivo y continuar con los procesos”.

    Al respecto, Juan Pablo Barahona, representante de la empresa Pasedati S.A., aseguró que ya comenzó la construcción del laboratorio para extraer sustancias activas de la planta de cannabis.

    “Si bien tenemos experiencia en extracción de resinas con otros cultivos, esto es inédito para nosotros. Esta vinculación se generó para cumplir con todos los objetivos que tenemos que es elaborar distintos productos para la salud humana y animal”, manifestó Barahona.

    Una de las variedades cultivadas está en los últimos pasos para la inscripción en el registro nacional de propiedad de cultivares del INASE, y hay dos genotipos selectos más para ser registrados en los próximos meses.

    El trabajo conjunto entre ambas organizaciones es inédito en el país y se destaca por la articulación y el intercambio de conocimientos y estrategias entre equipos de investigación del INTA y cultivadores y profesionales de Ciencia Sativa.

    Así lo remarcó Gabriela Calzolari, fundadora de la ONG Ciencia Sativa y becaria de Conicet la Agencia Nacional de Laboratorios Públicos (ANLAP): “Creemos muy importante que hoy, personas que hace años cultivamos cannabis en marcos desregulados, tengamos la posibilidad de ser parte de un proyecto como este. El cambio de normativa y de paradigma en relación al cultivo y uso de cannabis que estamos viviendo hoy, es fundamentalmente, el resultado del constante trabajo colectivo entre muchas asociaciones de la sociedad civil del país, junto con otros actores”.

    Este proyecto articula con otros grupos del INTA como es el LASSPA, Laboratorio de Suelos y Agua y el Centro de Multiplicadores de Biocontroladores (CEMUBIO) del INTA Alto Valle. Además, trabaja articuladamente con la secretaría de Ciencia, Tecnología – RIO NEGRO INNOVA que encabeza Ricardo Quintana.

    El proyecto busca ampliar las líneas de investigación y de trabajo con pymes regionales que producen sustratos e insumos para cannabis y paneles y bombas solares para utilizar energías renovables y lograr un cultivo sostenible.

    “También, aspiramos a vincularnos con la Universidad Nacional el Comahue para avanzar en generar pasantías que nos permitan evaluar la optimización de los cultivos como la automatización del riego”, señaló Calzolari

    Producción de cannabis bajo cubierta

    Las 850 plantas que se cultivan en el macrotúnel se obtuvieron por multiplicación a partir de semillas y esquejes en la EEA Bariloche. Esos genotipos fueron definidos y seleccionados para evaluar su comportamiento bajo distintas condiciones de producción.

    Según Roberto Gómez, responsable del cultivo de cannabis en esa unidad del INTA Alto Valle, en lo que respecta a la producción de cannabis “tenemos que tomar los mayores recaudos desde el inicio hasta el producto final porque son cultivos que serán destinados a la salud humana. Por eso, somos muy cuidadosos en las prácticas culturales para al manejo de plagas y el uso de insumos biológicos”, explicó Gómez.

    En el cultivo se utiliza fertilizantes orgánicos y estrategias de manejo de plagas para combatir hormigas cortadoras de hojas, orugas, trips y arañuelas rojas con trampas y con insecticidas biológicos.

    “Contamos con un sistema de trazabilidad que nos permite cargar toda la información sobre el manejo de las plantas en el cual quedan registradas todas las operaciones desde las condiciones de cultivo hasta la producción final”, remarcó Gómez.

    Trazacann, información paso a paso del cultivo

    La Asociación Civil Ciencia Sativa, el INTA, la empresa GS1 (organización dedicada al sistema de estándares globales) y KYAS (empresa de software) desarrollaron un sistema de trazabilidad de cannabis denominado Trazacann que podrá ser utilizado por otros cultivos en el país.

    “Se trata de una solución informática singular porque no existía en Argentina un sistema de trazabilidad para cannabis y cáñamo. Este sistema tiene la particularidad de adaptarse a cada proyecto y tiene un sellado block chain para mayor seguridad en el acceso a la información para proyectos de I+D”, señaló Calzolari.

    En el desarrollo de esta herramienta las dos firmas contribuyeron a asignar un número de identificación para cada producto con estándares globales y tecnología Blockchain.

    Esto con el objetivo de facilitar el acceso a los datos obtenidos en cada etapa del cultivo y la elaboración de productos como así también mejorar la gestión, la calidad y la planificación estratégica en proyectos de Cannabis para cumplir con los requerimientos de las entidades regulatorias en un único formato que garantice inmutabilidad y confianza.

    Para Mario Abitbol, representante de la firma GS1, uno de los grandes desafíos que tienen las autoridades sanitarias es establecer los mecanismos de control de los productos regulados: “la respuesta es trabajar con estándares. En la Argentina lo hace con mucho éxito la ANMAT para la trazabilidad de medicamentos y dispositivos médicos”.

    Asimismo, Abitbol remarcó: “la tecnología es innovadora en el mundo del cannabis. Si bien otros países como Canadá ya tienen experiencia en la identificación de material cannábico, a nivel de traza nosotros tenemos un trabajo que creemos que va a ser realmente revolucionario para la región y el mundo”.
