A dos meses de publicada la nueva reglamentación de la Ley 27.350 que posibilita la investigación médica y científica del uso medicinal del cannabis y sus derivados, se anunció el primer acuerdo público-privado entre el Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA) y la compañía Pampa Hemp para la investigación científica y el cultivo local de cannabis para fines medicinales en la Estación Experimental de Pergamino ubicada en la provincia de Buenos Aires.
El objetivo del acuerdo, explican desde Pampa Hemp, es impulsar la producción nacional, el desarrollo de técnicas de cultivo, las variedades genéticas y la creación de un banco de semillas. Desde el INTA agregaron que “el foco estará puesto en las actividades de I+D y productivas desarrollando técnicas de cultivo de cannabis con diferentes variedades genéticas”.
Así mismo se diseñarán protocolos de producción apoyados en la integración y desarrollo de tecnologías locales de trazabilidad, inteligencia artificial aplicada, automatización, sensorización y monitoreo de cultivos que resulten posteriormente escalables a nivel agronómico.
En una segunda instancia, el objetivo del INTA y Pampa Hemp será el desarrollo de genéticas propias para fines medicinales y otros usos, mediante la estabilización de variedades locales y la creación de un banco de semillas de cannabis que permita contar con germoplasma adaptado a las condiciones de la geografía y clima de Argentina.
Por último, Pablo Fazio y Sebastián Tedesco, socios fundadores de Pampa Hemp, esperan generar exportaciones de la producción local, acercando un producto de alta calidad, con todas las certificaciones correspondientes, a los distintos mercados internacionales.
