    San Luis: Impulsan la investigación y producción de cannabis medicinal

    El Ministerio de Salud de San Luis, el Hospital Central y Laboratorios Puntanos firmaron un convenio para ampliar los trabajos en materia de extracción, cultivo e investigación de cannabis medicinal.

    A pesar de que el gobierno nacional aún no dio señales de que vaya a implementar políticas con respecto a la planta milentaria, desde la provincia de San Luis, con el objetivo de seguir con los avances en la investigación y producción de cannabis medicinal, la ministra de Salud provincial, Claudia Spagnuolo, el presidente del Hospital Central Dr. Ramón Carrillo, Adolfo Sánchez de León, y el director de Laboratorios Puntanos, Franco Guzmán, llevaron a cabo la firma de un convenio para impulsar el “Proyecto Belgrano”.

    La iniciativa que ya se encontraba bajo la órbita del hospital Ramón Carrillo y que ahora cuenta con el respaldo del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA) tiene como objetivo central continuar con la investigación sobre la producción de variedades de cannabis.

    En la actualidad el enfoque está puesto en actividades de extracción, cultivo e investigación. De esta manera, Laboratorios Puntanos, desarrollará un esquema completo que abarque desde el cultivo hasta la obtención de especialidades medicinales, con la intervención de profesionales de la salud a nivel local y regional. 

    El documento establece que la totalidad del “Proyecto Belgrano”, con equipamiento e infraestructura, sea transferido a Laboratorios Puntanos. “Este traslado tiene como objetivo unificar esfuerzos y continuar realizando nuevos estudios y pruebas para amplificar los resultados positivos que ya se han obtenido según los protocolos establecidos por el Ministerio de Salud de la Nación”, expresaron desde el área de Salud.

    Además, indicaron que Laboratorios Puntanos cuenta con su propio espacio de control de calidad, “formado por profesionales especializados y un equipamiento adecuado para liderar la actividad y obtener un producto seguro, eficaz y de alto nivel”.

    Autoridades presentes en la reunión

    Durante la firma del convenio participaron autoridades y referentes del Hospital Central, la Universidad Católica de Cuyo (UCCuyo), la Universidad Provincial de Oficios (UPrO), el Hospital de Salud Mental y direcciones del Ministerio de Salud en las áreas de Vinculación con Centros Privados, Adultos Mayores y Prevención y Asistencia en Adicciones.
